Protect your Home from Frozen Pipes

How to Prevent Frozen Pipes

The temperatures are continuing to drop. It is very important to take time to prepare your home and prevent freezing pipes.  If you own a business, make sure you take the necessary steps to prepare your business as well.

Prevent Frozen Pipes

We've shared some helpful information and reminders to help get your prepared for the freezing temperatures.  Thank you to our friends at Cincinnati Insurance Company for putting together some quick tips and tricks!

Some important steps as noted below are:

  • Leave your faucets dripping and open interior room and cabinet doors.
  • If you do have a frozen pipe, turn off your water supply and call a professional as soon as possible.  When turning your water back on, be cautious as there may be other frozen sections of your plumbing that you cannot see.
  • Keep your thermostat on and do not drop it considerably if you will be out of town.

If you have further questions or need to submit a claim, be sure to contact a Troxell agent today at 217-528-7533.
