Protect your Home or Business from Frozen Pipes

How to Prevent Frozen Pipes

Prevent Frozen Pipes

When the temperatures continue to drop, it is very important to take the necessary steps to prevent frozen pipes in your home or business.  Expensive claims due to frozen pipes are very common and by getting prepared, you can avoid the cost and hassle.

Here are a few ideas to keep your home or business protected during freezing temperatures:

  • Leave your faucets dripping.
  • Keep your cabinet doors open under your faucets.
  • If you do have a frozen pipe, turn off your water supply and call a professional as soon as possible.  When turning your water back on, be cautious as there may be other frozen sections of your plumbing that you cannot see.
  • Keep your thermostat on and do not drop it considerably if you will be out of town.
  • If you will be out of town, have neighbors or friends check on your home while you are away.

If you have further questions or need to submit a claim, be sure to contact a Troxell team member today at 217-528-7533.
