Life and Health Processor

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Provides assistance to Producers and Service Line personnel in handling and processing new and renewal product lines business.
  • Provides in-house customer services to clients as assigned and requested.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Compiles and organizes client information necessary to process new and renewal policies, cancellations requests, and endorsement forms.  Sets up and maintains manual and electronic policy holder files. 
  • Enters data and text from a variety of source documents into electronic information files.  Reviews and monitors output documents for discernible errors and enters corrections. 
  • Applies appropriate safeguards regarding the confidentiality and security of items such as checks, policies, medical records, and endorsement forms.
  • Maintains a suspense system to track outstanding orders, correspondence, and reports;   and conducts appropriate follow up by telephone or personal contact to ensure accuracy and completeness of files.  May issue binders, certificates, and quotations to meet client or producer needs.
  • Performs a variety of administrative support functions such as the sorting and processing of work unit mail, photocopying, miscellaneous typing, facsimile transmissions, and other general office support duties to maintain an efficient and orderly work environment.
  • Performs special projects at management’s request.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Good familiarity with computers and various software programs.  Prior experience with Windows applications, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and use of the Internet desirable.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to key data and text via computer terminal with accuracy and attention to detail, while carrying out assignments with limited supervision.
  • Good oral and written communication skills, good interpersonal skills, and a desire to work with people in a team and customer relations setting.
  • Must be able to secure and maintain insurance licensure, at company expense.

EDUCATION AND TRAINING:

  • High school graduate or GED required, college or technical school level courses in business related studies helpful.
  • Two years’ prior experience in a business or office setting highly desired.
