Watercraft and Boat Insurance

Skippers don’t skip on their Boat Insurance coverage.

If you own a boat, you know that there are many additional costs and risks that may arise.  TROXELL will make sure you have the right protection in place for all your watercraft and water-related toys.

Troxell Boat Insurance Tips and Tricks:

  • Some discounts may be available for various safety devices, boating safety courses, or if you use the same carrier for your home and auto insurance.
  • You may be able to add your boat to your current home, auto or renter’s policy; however, depending on the type of boat and it's size, you may have to buy a separate policy.
  • Understand the difference between “agreed value” and “actual cash value” policies:
    • “Agreed Value” costs more but pays more.  It will cover the stated value in the event of a total loss.
    • “Actual Cash Value” cost less but only pays up to the actual cash value of your boat at the time of the loss.  Depreciation due to age, usage and general condition of your boat all factors in the actual cash value determination.

Understand your Boat Insurance coverage and make sure you know exactly what you are or are not paying for.

Just like Auto Insurance, each boat policy is different.  Spend time discussing your boat, accessories, and trailer with TROXELL to make sure you have proper Boat Insurance coverage.
